Spaltenna is an ancient feudal hamlet consisting of the church with it’s bell tower dated 1000, the adjacent castle and a small group of houses, a splendid example of medieval architecture.
The castle and the church, both with the severe beauty of a fortress, where first noted in a document of 1030. Rich in history and legend, the buildings are enriched by beamed ceilings and sumptuous doorway.
The Spaltenna complex, surrounded by vineyards and wood, looks out over a splendid valley, at the center of an area rich in castles and ruins, ancient abbeys and medieval villages.

Set in Tuscany's countryside, Castello di Spaltenna Exclusive Resort & Spa is an ancient monastery from the 10th century. It offers 2 swimming pools, one of which is heated, a restaurant and spacious rooms with Sky TV.

Rooms at the Castello Di Spaltenna have traditional Tuscan décor and panoramic views over the valley or the courtyard. They all include free Wi-Fi.

The outdoor pool has a waterfall and a sun terrace for guests to sunbathe. In the winter months, there is the indoor pool with countryside views.

Il Pievano restaurant is situated in the castle’s historic hall and offers a large wine list including many wines from the local Chianti region. Candlelit dinners are served out on the courtyard.
